Woodly®

Woodly® is an innovative cellulose-based plastic material with properties largely similar to those of conventional fossil-based plastics.

Plastic is difficult to replace in our modern society and way of life. However, plastic materials can be reformulated to reduce their environmental and climate impact. Woodly’s main raw material comes from forestry operations that meet international environmental and ethical standards. Currently, some fossil-based components are also used, as bio-based alternatives are not yet commercially available on an industrial scale. The first generation of Woodly® contains 40–60% bio-based content and is certified by TÜV Austria. The goal is to achieve 100% bio-based content.

Woodly® can be processed using conventional methods such as injection molding, extrusion and blown film extrusion. Typical applications for Woodly® include films, food packaging and household products.
