TPU

TPU is a thermoplastic variant of polyurethane rubber, meaning it can be remelted and recycled. The most common TPU materials are the polyester- and polyether-based types. The polyester-based types, which are the most common, have the best mechanical properties, while the polyether types have better hydrolysis resistance. TPU materials can also be offered partially based on renewable raw materials. The most common applications for TPU are those requiring good abrasion properties, such as shoe soles and other wear parts.
