In the latest issue of Polymervärlden (March 2025), our Managing Director Niklas Lindberg shares his thoughts on the current state of the polymer industry, and what may lie ahead.
In the interview, Niklas talks about how recent geopolitical developments, particularly the war in Ukraine, have affected several of our customers:
– Erteco has never operated in Russia, but several of our customers, especially in Finland and the Baltics, have been impacted due to their previous exports to the region, he explains.
He also highlights that a future peace agreement could open new opportunities for industrial growth and reconstruction.
Looking ahead, Niklas sees strong potential in areas like electricity and energy transmission, where technical plastics play a key role in many of the projects we are involved in. He also points to growing demand for plastic components in the medical sector, driven by both demographic shifts and advances in healthcare.
Sustainability, Niklas says, remains a central focus at Erteco.
– We are actively expanding our portfolio of sustainable materials and supporting customers in meeting environmental standards and certifications. So far in 2025, we’ve also taken part in several major trade fairs, including Elfack in Gothenburg, where we participated as the only supplier focused on technical plastics.
We’re looking forward to what’s ahead and remain committed to supporting our customers with innovation, expertise, and sustainable solutions.
