NORYL™ Resin

The NORYL™ Resin material family includes various modified PPE blends consisting of PPO™ Resin (polyphenylene ether) and polystyrene.

NORYL™ Resin combines the very good inherent properties of PPO. Examples include good heat resistance, electrical properties, hydrolysis stability and low density. The material is also easy to flame-retard with halogen-free FR systems. Given the material’s performance and low density, it offers a cost-effective alternative to other performance materials.

The material is also characterised by properties such as high stiffness and strength, and good chemical resistance to acids, alkaline solutions and cleaning agents, among others.

NORYL™ Resin is suitable for many different applications, particularly where a good balance between mechanical and chemical properties is required. The material is commonly used in electronic products and sanitation systems. There is a large range of materials approved for drinking water contact.

By blending NORYL™ Resin with other additives, such as glass fibre, the already good properties can be further improved.
