Thiadiazole is used for crosslinking chlorinated polyethylene (CPE).
CPE can be crosslinked using either a peroxide or thiadiazole, which is best performed in a vacuum to avoid a tacky surface (which can occur during extrusion and continual vulcanization using hot-air exposure).
VANAX 829 in combination with VANAX 882-B provides the best general vulcanization system for use with CPE.
VANAX 829 combined with VANAX 808HP provides significantly improved scorch resistance during processing, provided somewhat lower mechanical properties are an acceptable trade-off.
