Hydrin® is a polymer that is part of the polyether group of elastomers. The material is manufactured using a polymerization process. This material is characterized by a fully saturated, oxygenous polymer chain that contains chlorinated side groups .
Hydrin has good thermostability, excellent performance at low temperatures, and good resistance to mineral oils, gases, and fuels. The material is also electrostatically dissipative.
Hydrin has good properties over a broad range of temperatures – between roughly -40 and 125°C – but can perform at 150°C for a short-term exposure.
Zeon has a wide range of different types of Hydrin, which makes the material suitable for many kinds of application. Hydrin is available with varying levels of chlorine and oxygen content, depending on the homopolymer, copolymer, and terpolymer structures.
