Geloy Resin is an amorphous compound of polycarbonate (PC) and acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA). ASA has excellent weather-resistant properties and, in combination with PC, provides increased impact resistance and thermal resistance.
The typical properties of Geloy Resin are:
- Good resistance to chemicals (but not solvents)
- High surface hardness and excellent surface finish
- Very easy to color
- Excellent UV resistance
Geloy Resin is easy to process using e.g. injection molding. Due to its excellent weather-resistant properties, the material is mainly used in outdoor applications. Examples of application areas are chargers for electric cars and marine
