Acrypet (PMMA) is a transparent and clear-as-glass thermoplastic. The material has a hard surface and is characterized by properties such as good dimensional stability and light transmission.
Polymethyl methacrylate is sometimes informally referred to as ‘perspex’. It has very good scratch resistance and UV resistance, and is easy to color. The material is less impact resistant than polycarbonate.
The material is used in several different application areas in e.g. the automotive and electronics industries. Acrypet is well suited to applications relating to lighting, construction materials, sanitary articles, household appliances, bicycles, and components for vehicle interiors, where transparency and scratch resistance are essential properties.
