BioLite®
BioLite® is a family of materials made from hemp fibers blended with thermoplastics to produce granules for injection molding. All consumer products made from BioLite® materials can be traced back to European farms.
BioLite® is a fully recyclable material that can replace materials reinforced with non-renewable raw materials such as glass fiber and chalk.
The hemp fibers make BioLite stronger and stiffer than competing biocomposites. It is also lighter than conventional plastic materials, offering improved performance. Products made from BioLite have a more natural look and feel. Its matte surface and organic appearance make it a popular choice among product designers who want to communicate a sustainable material choice to consumers.
Typical applications include automotive components, clothes hangers, suitcases, kitchen containers and cosmetic packaging.
