LEXAN™ Resin

Lexan™ Resin polycarbonate is an amorphous engineering plastic with a glass transition temperature of 150 °C. Polycarbonate has typical properties such as high stiffness and impact toughness up to 135 °C. Glass fibre reinforced variants have very good creep resistance even at elevated temperature.

    • Lexan™ Resin has high optical clarity but can also be obtained in translucent, diffusing and opaque colours.

    The product family includes a wide range of viscosities, various flame retardancy levels and stabilisers such as UV and heat. There are also variants approved for food contact and biocompatibility.

    The material can be both injection moulded and extruded, and is commonly used in the automotive industry, both for exterior applications and interior details inside the vehicle. It is also a very suitable material for medical devices and optical applications.
