Masterbatch

Masterbatch is an additive that can be used to modify the properties of a plastic material. It consists of a concentrate of colour pigments or various additives such as UV and heat stabilisers blended into a carrier of polymer or waxes.

Masterbatch is a very cost-effective way to colour or add specific properties to a polymer. Instead of buying a pre-finished plastic material — which can be very expensive when only smaller quantities are needed — you can influence the polymer’s properties during the manufacturing process, before the product has taken its final shape. Using masterbatch gives you greater flexibility in your choice of colours and additives, since you can decide colouration or properties during the process based on your own preferences.

Economically it is also an advantageous method since it is suitable for both smaller and larger volumes.
