PC/PBT

PC/PBT is an amorphous blend of polycarbonate (PC) and semi-crystalline polybutylene terephthalate (PBT).

Blending two polymers can produce an alloy that combines the good properties of both materials very well. PBT contributes its semi-crystalline structure to increase resistance to chemicals and UV as well as increased stiffness, while PC contributes excellent impact toughness and dimensional stability.

This blend can be used in many different applications, and is very common in the automotive industry, for example.

  • Very good impact toughness (even at low temperatures down to -20° C)
