Nipol NBR is an elastomer which is manufactured using emulsion polymerization involving 1,3-butadiene and acrylonitrile.
There is a wide range of Nipol NBR elastomers. The acrylonitrile content determines the material’s oil resistance, abrasion resistance, and thermostability.
Nipol NBR compounds are characterized by the following properties:
– Good performance across a wide temperature range between roughly -40 and 125°C (but can perform at 150°C for a short-term exposure).
– Good oil and fuel resistance
– High mechanical strength
– Excellent physical properties
Nipol NBR is used in many different types of application, for example hoses and gaskets.
